Dear Beloved Pastor :

Grace and peace to you !

The Divine Mercy Eucharistic Society, a lay organization, based in the Diocese of Oakland is hosting the 16th Annual Divine Mercy Congress 2010, now known as Regional American Congress on Mercy (“RACOM”) in the West Coast - "Divine Mercy – Our Spark Of Hope" on March 5-7, 2010 at the San Ramon Marriott, 2600 Bishop Drive, San Ramon. This is a family event that last year drew over 1,300 participants from all over the West Coast and beyond.
We have received confirmation from Fr. Patrice Chocholski to be our guest speaker at our Congress. Fr. Chocholski is the General Coordinator and Secretary of the World Apostolic Congress on Mercy. He was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to lead the first world event on God’s Divine Mercy. He also serves as Secretary to Cardinal Christoph Schonborn, Director of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

In March 2008, Divine Mercy Eucharistic Society’s appointment from Bishop Allen Vigneron to be a part of the U.S. delegation at the Vatican’s first-ever World Apostolic Congress on Mercy (“WACOM”) held in Rome, was by God’s design and intensified our commitment to propagate the Divine Mercy message throughout the greater Bay Area and beyond. For us, our active role in WACOM was a confirmation of our mission. The event allowed us to meet personally with Fr. Patrice Chocholski.

Father Patrice will be with us for two days. On Friday, March 5th from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM he will conduct the Divine Mercy Seminar for the Clergy. In this “Year of the Priest”, we cordially invite you and your parochial associates and deacons to attend this free seminar and the Congress. All that will be required is your pre-registration. On Saturday morning, Fr. Patrice will give a talk to the adults and in the evening he will be returning to Rome. Likewise, we would like to also invite you to concelebrate Mass on Saturday, March 6th, at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Patrice Chocholski and the other priests present during the conference.

Last year during our Congress, many people experienced God’s mercy and healing through confession. Because of this great need, we request your assistance at your convenience, to hear confessions during any of the scheduled confession hours : Saturday, 9 AM. – 12 Noon ; 1 PM. – 2:30 PM. We believe that you are the right hand of Our Lord, who can effectively touch the hearts of many and bring them to conversion through His gift of Divine Mercy. As our Lord proclaimed to St. Faustina, “Tell My priests that hardened sinners will repent on hearing their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy. To priests who will proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wondrous power ; I will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those to whom they will speak” (St. Faustina, Diary 1521).

Would you kindly include the following announcement in your parish bulletin and post the enclosed Regional American Congress on Mercy Registration Form.
